Portage Description: If you have completed the Seagull to Grandpa portage this is more of the same. Very step up grade and sown grade. Right at the start of the portage at Grandpa the trail goes straight up for about 20 yards. There is a bog in the middle, again with the walking logs. I tried walking the logs and got a face first view of a BWCA bog ecosystem. So again if your coordination level is comparable to mine just walk through the mud. There is a boulder field at the end of the portage on the Roy side that is about 50 yards long. This is an ankle breaker, be very careful, especially if you are the canoe mule. Lake after portage: Roy Known campsites: None at all Lake Description: Roy lake is clear and scenic. It has those wonderfully feisty bluegill in it that would be worth a couple hours of your fishing time. Portage from Roy into: Saganaga
