Portage Description:
The portage starts with a slight incline and progressively goes down into a swamp. I understand the swamp used to be very difficult to cross, but due to the rangers putting in a boardwalk, and beaver building a large open pond it is now much easier. When you enter the beaver pond, angle slightly south. After you leave the beaver pond, the rest of the portage is fairly flat with a couple mud holes. There's about 50 rods before the pond, and about 200 rods after.
