Portage Description: This is not an easy portage! My wife rates this one as never again. It climbs steeply above the northern shore of Ashdick Lake then levels out for a considerable distance before descending to to a shallow bay just around the corner from Monument portage at the western end of Swamp lake. The portage wouldn't be too bad without the added obstacles along the way (deadfalls, bottomless mud pits, narrow and mosquito-infested pathway). I don't believe this path sees very many travelers. Lake after portage: Swamp Known campsites: None at all Lake Description: Swamp Lake is about a 200 acre border lake. While there are no campsites on the US side, I do recall seeing a Canadian site or two. Much of this lake is quite shallow and weedy. We had good luck with the smallmouth and Northerns among the many downed trees in the western portion of the lake Portage from Swamp into: Return to Ashdick Ottertrack Saganaga Ottertrack
