Portage Description: The portage is apparently at the site of a spring, based upon the cold water along the shore at the portage. The path is short and level, but very rocky and has lots of roots. One tree leaning over the path may make an overhead carry a little difficult for taller paddlers. The landing on the Moon Lake side is a little mucky in a few spots, but not too bad. Lake after portage: Moon Known campsites: 3 Lake Description: The first campsite after the portage is kind of nasty and almost worthless unless you have a single small tent or are sleeping on tarps on the ground. The other two campsites looked nice from the water, but were occupied when we were there. Caught some nice smallmouth. Portage from Moon into: Return to Deer East Bearskin
