Portage Description:
Portage starts on a very wide path from Deer lake, then turns into a twisty path heading steeply downhill. Doing the portage the opposite way would rate an average in my book because of the steep uphill at the start.

Very nice landing on the deer side. Landing is a little rocky on Caribou side, but not bad.

Lake after portage: Caribou
Known campsites: 6
Lake Description:

Long lake with moderate clarity. Known as a walleye and smallmouth bass lake. We saw a golden eagle on this lake in '02, the only one I've seen in the BW.
