Portage Description:
You must be nuts to try this portage. I only walked it (as a day trip from Little Jean) without gear, just to see if it was possible for our crew. It starts out in a gnarly swamp for about 200 meters, with aged corduroy that is slimy and rotted. Would be quite a ballet with a canoe, as waist deep suckmud prevails. After that swampy area, it is pretty tame (and long) except for the numerous deadfalls. There is a spot where one would also have to offload the canoe and climb down a 6 foot rock face, then re-engage. All in all, in terms of length and nastiness, this rates high. You would have to single portage it as you would not get anyone to go over it twice willingly.

Lake after portage: Lonely
Known campsites: not sure
Lake Description:

Lonely lake is quite nice and scenic, although we only passed through from Sturgeon to Walter.
