Portage Description:
Pretty well maintained trail, probably sees more hikers than portage traffic because of its length. Relatively flat and dry when we encountered it. Short boardwalk nearer Rose. The Daniels Lake Spur "exit" was pretty hard to miss. The trail finally ends at the extreme northeastern bay of Daniels Lake.

Lake Description:
Long narrow lake where we encountered a momma moose and her two calves. Western-most campsite (at least according to McKenzie) on Daniels is small, overgrown, and honestly better avoided.
