Portage Description: This is a difficult way to enter the wilderness, though the result at Tuscarora almost (!) makes up for it. Previous descriptions in books list 11 canoe rests but I saw none that were usable (though I agree with the policy to let the wilderness be natural, I could have used a rest or two) Lots of up and down that are steep at times, but Tuscarora is beautiful and lakes to the west are great. I recommend to exit (or enter to miss this portage) via Brant and Bat lakes. Lake after portage: Tuscarora Known campsites: 8+ Lake Description: Fabulous lake with several deep spots and good structure for fish. A very good campsite is on the west shore on a rocky point Portage from Tuscarora into: Missing Link
