Portage Description:
Fewer trees, more open than most portages in this area. Good trail, although a few large trees have fallen across the trail. A wide beaver dam has been constructed on the Fowl Lake End, only about 18" high but marshy on both ends, you'll have to slide your canoe over it somehow, the dam is strong but you'll have to wade in water about 12" deep beyond it. The best place to cross it seemed to be on the northern end.
