Portage Description:
From a rocky landing on the Caribou Lake side, the portage starts with a pretty steep uphill portion, with reasonably good footing. It then levels out for a while before reaching Deer Lake. The landing on the Deer Lake side is easy to negotiate and there is plenty of room for staging gear and canoes.

The campsite is right next to the Deer Lake landing. A small lake with some shallow marshy areas.
