Quetico and the Boundary Waters Fishing

Rattle Traps:
Rattle Traps by Bill Lewis are sinking lures that cast well even in the wind and are especially good at bouncing around and over rocks or wood if retrieved near the bottom. The bumping and banging are what actually gets the fish's attention and triggers the bite. Rattle Traps are filled with small BB's, which give the lure a unique sound underwater and they are especially good at mimicking crayfish. I like to use these lures for casting in areas like rocky points or wooded shorelines where I may have already caught a fish while trolling and there may likely be more. Rapala, Berkley and others also make effective versions of this lure.
