Portage Description: This portage is over an open slab of ledge rock. As you go downstream, it is on the right bank. The easiest way to make the portage is to take out the heavy packs from your canoe and wear them as you each pick up an end of the canoe and carry it down the portage. All the life jackets, paddles, daypacks, fishing gear, etc. can just stay in the canoe. Lake after portage: Falls Chain #4 Known campsites: 6 Lake Description: Following this portage you will enter a wide stretch of the Maligne River containing 6 campsites, some of which appeared to be pretty nice (though we did not stay at any). Additional campsites are a 4 rod portage away in Wet Lake. Portage from Falls Chain #4 into: Falls Chain #5
