Portage Description:
The portage begins with a serious bog walk next to a small creek. This 1st section is about 80 rods. It was difficult to stay on the trail and also difficult to predict how deep your next step would sink. (Sometimes hip deep).

The next section is very steep, as close to rock climbing as I want to get with out climbing gear. Good thing the weather was dry or the rocks would be very slick. The landing on Bentpine is a very large rock and a bit tricky to get the boat reloaded.

Lake after portage: Bentpine
Known campsites: 3
Lake Description:

Bentpine is a very nice lake to spend some time and relax. Only a couple good camp sites, so choose early.
