Portage Description:
The 01 description by Labvolt is very accurate except when you get to the swamp area. As of 7-05, the beavers have damned up the stream so that part of the trail is under water; 2-4 feet. When traveling south (Argo to Crooked)the trick is: once you get down to the tall grass swampy area and it gets over boot high, reload canoe and paddle to the beaver dam. Look for the trail to pick back up on higher ground at the southwest corner of the dam. Although we spent a good hour on a search mission wondering where the trail vanished to, we would take it again now that we know.
