Portage Description:
This portage was literally exhausting. It climbs several steep hills and never seems to end. Not only are the hills nuts, but the route twists and at times dips into swamps. Hmmm. The reward is astonishing canoe country. Pine is a beautiful lake which leads ultimately to some of my favorite BWCA areas - east and west pike lakes. This portage is quite challenging and difficult but worth the hassle. NOTE::: I have not been on this portage since the wind storm and have heard it was hit badly. I am unsure of its accessibility.
