Portage Description: Must've been part of railway system that continues to Horse. It is relatively flat and straight. When leaving Sandpit, the trail branches in several directions a few times. Always stay to the right! A bit swampy at first leaving Sandpit but quickly gets nice. The loading\unloading area on Range is a bit cramped but is workable. Lake after portage: Range Known campsites: 1 Lake Description: Basically it is a big bowl. The Range river flows in from the South and flows out the Northeast. There is a lot of lily pads. The lake has Bluegill, largemouth, walleyes, Smallies, and Northerns. Also rumored to have crappies. The campsite is large enough for 2 tents and the river is fun to explore to the south. Not many shoreline spots to fish. The lake is only about 80 acres. Portage from Range into:
