Portage Description: The portage is smooth and wide. There are slippery logs to be negotiated on the Kelso side where you want to land the canoe. The Sawbill side rock rubble for the most part, lots of paint visible, there is a sand beach on the left side as you face it but it is small. Lake after portage: Kelso Known campsites: 3 Lake Description: The Kelso river and lake are shallow and full of small Northerns. We also enjoyed photo ops of wild iris flowers blooming and orchid like blooms. The bog like areas also provided a deer sighting, light was great and the deer were too. Portage from Kelso into:
