Portage Description:
The landing for this portage is on the right-hand side, just above Silver Falls. The landing is large and easy to spot. It had better be, because the falls are RIGHT THERE. There is little current above the falls though, and little risk of disaster. The portage starts off going up over some large, bare rocks (slippery when wet), and then has some steep, rocky descents. Overall, the portage has quite a bit of up and down, but is generally downhill. Wherever the trail seems to fork, take the right-hand fork to get to the end. Take the left-hand forks to some photo-ops of the falls. Don't be surprised if you have lots of company on this portage. Silver Falls is kind of a 'gateway' into the SE quadrant of the Quetico, but traffic seems to thin out pretty quickly once past this portage.

Lake after portage: Saganagons
Known campsites: 8+
Lake Description:

Large lake with lots of channels and islands. Plenty of opportunities for solitude if you get off the 'beaten-path' of folks heading to the Falls Chain or Man Chains.
