Portage Description:
Silver falls portage- gateway to the falls chain/ man chain/ Saganagons. landings on both sides are very well worn. Might prove tricking in extreme water levels- high water provides risky current out of cache bay - low levels might make for difficult landing. Portage rises quickly is scattered with roots and rock WATCH YOUR STEP. For many this is the first portage of the trip and a twisted ankle is no way to begin a voyage. Aside from the tricky footing which is compounded in wet conditions this is a straight forward portage.

Lake Description:

Saganagons is a large lake sprawling to the east and north. it hosts many campsites on both shores and also beyond the "deadman's portage" if wind conditions are favorable, the paddling is made easy, however into an easterly, this lake is a monster. Fishing opportunities abound.
