Portage Description:
Upper Smudge Lake is accessed by the creek at the east end of Smudge Lake. After clearing two beaver dams and a half kilometer paddle up the creek, there is a flat 10 rod portage through the rocky bottom of the creek.

Lake Description:
Upper Smudge Lake is essentially the end of the line heading east out of Soho and Smudge Lakes on the north border of the park. It is a beautiful, lightly stained, tea colored lake. Caught lots of smallmouth on topwater baits. Didn't try for anything else.
