Portage Description:
The takeout at Summer is a rock face and steep. The rest is "cake". Nice put-in at Noon with gravel beach.

Lake after portage: Noon
Known campsites: 2
Lake Description:

I stayed two days at the campsite at the North of the Noon put-in. Caught largemouths and a few pike in the SE bay to the S of the island. Very pretty and somewhat quiet. A few people do take the "S" chain though. Morning of day 2 saw a bull moose swimming across lake right towards our camp at the portage at 6AM. He got out and entered the woods about 50 yards from our camp. What a sight, a full bull rack (big!) swimming just above water line right towards us through the morning mist! Got some great pics! On your way to Shade there are two portages. The shortest is from the SW end of the bay in Noon, but you'll have to go through a rock field entering the bay and a rock ledge at the take-out.
