Portage Description:
Heading in a southerly direction from Isabella down the creek, the first portage is well defined and typically rocky, but an easy walk that starts up then descends. At the south end of the creek, there is an up-and-over portage; however, you should be able to line around a few boulders rather than taking the irritatingly short portage. Between the two portages, partially completed beaver dams were easily negotiated, but swift current in a few places would make an upstream trek a serious paddle in places.

Lake after portage: Basswood
Known campsites: 8+
Lake Description:

North Bay is a wide open body of water with a few islands dotted along the way (to Burke portage). Could be a serious crossing if the wind is up and blowing in the wrong direction. On our trip, we were headed directly into a significant breeze, but the passage was uneventful.
