Quetico portage
Posted by: Joel
Season/Year: Spring 99
Water Level: average
Length: 180 rods
Rating: difficult
Additional Perspectives:

Portage Description:
Easy to find. Portage hadn't been traveled by humans that spring, but still visible. First 30 rods were relatively dry and level but had many trees across. Trail began to rise over rocky terrain. Noticed scratches on racks that were made by carbide traction devices used on snowmobiles. Some very steep sections, over solid rock, in middle of portage. More trees across portage followed by gentle slope to muddy exit into small unnamed lake.

Lake after portage: Unnamed*
Known campsites: 1
Lake Description:

Small oblong lake with rocky shoreline. Campsite, midway up eastern bank, hadn't been used in quite awhile. Did not attempt to fish. Left early next morning
