Portage Description:
This portage is not shown on all maps. It should only be used to avoid strong SW or NE winds on Saganagons. Instead of going down the channel to Silver Falls you go to the end of the bay immediately to the north. There is a chain of small lakes going north from there. There are a few short portages until you get to the last lake an then there is about a 1/3 mi. portage. In the middle of this portage the trail turns to thigh deep muck. You have to jump from rock to log to dry spot. It is usable but only if you have to avoid the wind on the SW end of Saganagons.
Lake after portage: Saganagons
Known campsites: 8+
Lake Description:
Saganagons is a large lake divided by a long point. There are many campsites and lots of good places to fish. It is the travel corridor to the Falls Chain, the most popular route out of Cache Bay.
