Portage Description:
Long portage, about a mile, I think, so if you can't get all your gear over in one shot you are looking at starting your trip with a 3 mile hike! More important than the portage is how you get to the portage. If you are parking across Burntside from the portage and paddling across Burntside be aware that Burntside is a Big lake and often has big waves and winds. The trip across Burntside getting to or from the portage can be really scary if it's a windy day. Especially with a fully loaded canoe. Also, the portage is a little hard to find because it is obscured by little islands.
