Portage Description:
This extremely good trail starts at the base of a large cliff, and goes straight up, through, and down a deep cleft between enormous (for this area) cliffs on each side. The trail is a bit steep in parts, and looks like it could be muddy in wet weather. But it has a good elevated tread, with run-off bars and stone steps on the steepest portions. The entire route is shaded and in a wooded gorge. Take time to enjoy this one since it is remote and seldom traveled. Good lunch stop when the bugs aren't bad. Also good photography from up on the cliffs (easy to climb).
