Portage Description: This portage is feels longer than 220 but it is well maintained and is traveled enough that the path is fairly smooth. It does rise 106' the first 1/4 of the portage then descends 40 feet before rising another 40. The final 1/4 of the portage is slight decline of 50 feet. The overall gain in elevation is 44 feet. Both ends of the portages are open and easy access. Lake after portage: Ensign Known campsites: 8+ Lake Description: Ensign is extremely busy and the clarity is not that deep. Good to excellent Walleye fishing. Boot is surrounded by steep bluffs towering above the water 150' predominately along the eastern shore. Portage from Ensign into: Vera Return to Boot Splash Ashigan
