Portage Description:
The portage from Ester to Hanson is a small stream. You can float from one lake to the other. This seems to be really easy, but sometimes the beavers dam the water. In 3 visits to this area in three different years, we have been able to float into Hanson without any problems.

Lake after portage: Hanson
Known campsites: 2
Lake Description:

Hanson has some really good shallow areas for catching smallmouth. Look for the submerged humps, and you will not be sorry. We tried for walleye, but were not very successful. Primarily, we fished for smallmouth, but were able to catch Northerns and well.
