Portage Description:
This is an easy carry from the loading spot on the side of the gravel road next to the Chainsaw Sisters' Saloon. Parking is a few dollars a day at the Saloon. The sandy trail down to the put-in follows the narrow rocky stream. The put-in spot is also sandy and level. From there it's a decent paddle in slow moving water. The stream that flows from Picket Lake to Mudro meanders with some tight turns. The water was low in the fall and the end of the stream into the lake was a little challenging to manuever over and around some large submerged or partially submerged rocks.

Lake after portage: Mudro

Lake Description:

Mudro is a very deep lake. Not sure about fishing because we just passed through. The one established site you cannot stay at unless you have a permit for entry 22. Entry point 23 permit holders are not allowed to camp on Mudro. It's a short paddle directly across the lake to the portage to Sandpit.
