Portage Description:
This is not an easy portage. It truly has some of every element that makes for a challenging portage: long, flat grinds over packed earth; climbing and falling hauls over sharp and very craggy granite; steep descents into and across bogs; and then back up into high hills that ultimately drop to a sliver-type creek that lets onto this narrow, canyon-like lake. The portage is a tough one, especially if you're packed heavily and it is not advisable to tackle this one on a hot day. The lake is gorgeous, with good fishing for Northern at the narrow east-west stretch of the lake.
