Portage Description: This is actually a group of five portages through the Kekekabic Ponds which lie between Eddie and the northeast end of Kekekabic Lake. None of the portages are difficult, but they are frequent and one gets more tired from lifting the gear out of the canoe and putting it back than from carrying it. One portage runs through a beautiful pine grove. Lake after portage: Kekekabic Known campsites: 6 Lake Description: Kekekabic is a long east-west lake with several nice sites. One on the north shore lies behind three islands and is isolated and beautifully laid out, but it has been the subject of frequent bear visits in the past. Another on the southwestern end of the lake is on an island and it is also a beautiful, isolated site and the island offers hiking as the undergrowth is minimal. The western portion of Kekekabic is more traveled due to a portage coming in from the south from Strup Lake and one on the north shore to Spoon. Portage from Kekekabic into: Kekekabic Ponds Strup
