Portage Description:
This portage did not seem to be used very often when I did it in August of 1999. It had everything a portage can offer. It is long, buggy, hilly, swampy, dead falls and in portions the trail seemed to disappear into the brush. It ends in a rocky shallow bay in the southeast corner of Blackstone Lake.

Lake after portage: Blackstone
Known campsites: not sure
Lake Description:

Large pretty Lake with four distinct areas. There are three large arms on this Lake along with the main body that has a large Island roughly in the middle of the Lake. I was there on August 1, 1999 and did not see any one else. You could be any place on this lake and feel a sense of isolation. I did not camp here but took a day trip from Bell to Blackstone and paddled to the western most end and back. It is a very rocky shoreline and the lake bottom itself was made up of bowling ball size rocks and boulders. Many Islands and large bays.
