Baird to Keats

Quetico portage

Season/Year: Fall 02
Water Level: average
Length: 140 rods
Rating: difficult
Additional Perspectives:

Portage Description:
Starts flat and then with a slow climb out of a swampy cove in Baird. Quickly comes to some steep boulders that must be negotiated and eventually to the top where you'll find many old growth pines most of which are down. Some are absolutely massive in size. Very steep into Keats. At the end through a little stream/waterfall bed that, to be on the safe side, you should hand your canoe down through. Seems longer than the "Fisher" listed 140 rods.
