Portage Description:
This is really not a portage, but is a bunch of beaver dams on the "Blackstone" river. This creek flows out of Blackstone, into Saganagons. We counted a total of 6 portages, including 4-5 beaver dams, and the first 50 rod portage into the river from Blackstone. All in all, most of the beaver dams were up and over. With a royalex or aluminum canoe, I would just force my way over the dam. Kevlar would definitely require unload/portage/reload. There are decent portages around all the beaver dams. The last portage into Saganagons is about 50-60 rods, and nearly all downhill.

Lake after portage: Saganagons
Known campsites: 8+
Lake Description:

Blackstone is a pretty decent fishing lake, with good fishing in the shallows for smallmouth and northern. We caught larger northern than normal, and smaller smallmouth bass. All in all, the fishing was good, and the lake is a keeper.
