Portage Description: A creek flows from Clair to Burntside. There are boulders which must be portaged over on the inlet to Burntside (a short carry of a few rods). The creek can be paddled although it is shallow and boulder riddled for 40-50 yards until you run into a beaver dam. Then its clear sailing down through the open meadow for almost a mile. Exit the creek to the right 50 yards ahead of the falls. Clair Lake is then 20 rods straight up the tree lined ridge. A few windfalls cross the path. Lake after portage: Clair Known campsites: not sure Lake Description: The water in Clair is stained. The shoreline is nothing special, but does rise abruptly from the waters edge on the south end. There is supposedly a campsite to the right of the portage leading out to Bentpine Lake. We did not see it and continued on. Portage from Clair into: Return to Burntside (Q) Bentpine
