When
I was young my parents brought us to Quetico for the Pow Wows/Ranger
Reunions (my Dad worked there back in the late 40's or early 50's).
We have a canoe trip planned for this summer and I can't wait! This
is a great site - I'll definitely be checking it out again! |

My
what memories your images stir up. Quetico is truly a place like
none other. Our first trip there was what we called a trip of a lifetime,
because we thought we would be able to go there only once. It was
a trip of a lifetime and there was no way we could stay away. We
had to share it with our young girls and our hardy friends. We haven't
been there since '92' . Our girls were 4 and 6 they are now 13 and
15 and we all long to be there again. The loon is calling....calling
us north to the North Country this summer. As Sam Cook wrote "Each
of us has an up north. It's a time and a place far from the here
and now. It's a map on the wall, a dream in the making, a tugging
a one's soul. For those who feel the tug, who make the dream happen,
who put the map in the packsack and go, the world is never quite
the same." That is what Quetico did to us! |

This
is a great site...just discovered it today. My long-time tripping
partner and I are looking forward to another spectacular two-week
Quetico trip this summer. We've been many times in the past 10 years
and even now, in February, I am greatly looking forward to our return.

My
first trip was spring of 1999. I am returning this summer. Boundary
waters and Quetico are among God's greatest creations. |

This
is a wonderful sight which appeals to everyone from the beginner
to the old timer. I intend to check your sight and ask for and offer
any advice in the future. Your pictures and stories instill the
quiet beauty of the Quetico, and that is why most of who go there
can't stay away. |

I
think what you are doing is great. We need more recognition of the
area (though I wish it were my little secret). Hopefully we will
someday see more of the area around the park heading in the wilderness
direction. I just want to say THANKS. Roy |

Your
web site is great ! I made my 1st trip to Quetico when motors in
many lakes there were still legal - I can no longer even imagine
dragging gas/motors through portages or the noise & smell of such
equiptment. On one of my early trips in Quetico I saw an "old man"
in the lead canoe of a party strokin' against a strong upstream
current & wondered what would possess a "mature" man to do such
things . Some 30 yrs. later I'm still going. Of course , I now wonder
how many folks think the same about me . It's been my good fortune
to have a collection of friends who still love Quetico & are still
having me along every yr. since I certainly don't sail through the
portages with ease anymore. |
