I've tripped in many areas in Ontario and I must say that as far a scenery is concerned, Quetico has few equals. With the combination of small to medium size lakes and fairly short portages, it puts Algonquin to shame. Truely a crown jewel for canoe tripping.

The first time we visited BWCA we left part of us behind..our spirits. Since then we go back whenever we can. Summer and winter. Our thoughts wonder there and our hearts yearn to be there. Your site really helps to fill the void.

Went on my first trip into Quetico when I was in college. Have been back almost every year since then. Met my wife as the guide for her first wilderness canoe trip and now bring our two boys every year also. Have lived in Illinois almost all my life, but every summer, the Boundary Waters/Quetico is like "coming home".

Found this site by mistake and really enjoyed the information it offers. Always searching for advice and suggestions for furure trips. I would like to see more portages added to the present ones at the database.

I've got a trip planned for 6/02 and can hardly wait! I've been to BWCA once (when I was about 5). I have fond memories despite the mosquitoes. Tight lines!

I was introduced to canoeing 3 years ago by a good friend. I fell in love with canoeing, and also love canoe camping. I had never heard of the BWCAW until I began learning more about canoing. My friend and I would love to visit the BWCAW with our sons. Some day we hope.

Have been to BWCA for 3 trips in the last 4 years and plan to get to Quetico this year. This site hs made me even more anxious to go! Nice pictures and good atmosphere - exactly the kinds of things I need when I go north!
