Thanks for creating such a wonderful site! I am going on a BWCA trip in about two weeks and it made me more excited than ever to go back to one of my favorite places in the whole world.

I've been fotunate enough to have traveled the entire Quetico, having been a student with summers off for more years than most. I've heard wolves, been chased by moose, caught trophy walleye (12.5#), northern (20#+--three over 15# in one day) and smallmouth (up to 5#). Additionally, I have experienced rapture on secluded beaches with the love of my life. If anybody out there can match that, I'd love to hear from you. This may sound boastful, but it's the reward which Quetico offers those who are willing to sweat, endure hardship, paddle into stiff headwinds, portage through muskeg, and overcome fears. Go ye, to the wilds, to the woods and waters, for it is good to live thus.

I've loved the BWCA since my first trip as a high schooler back in the early 70's. I am going back again this year the last week in August. I prefer August to avoid the turkey-size misquitoes (they are only chicken-size in August). Love your web-site,it was a good double-check for my own "take-list". I would like to hear the loon call last longer or add a button to replay it.

I am scheduled to make my first trip to the boundary waters this coming weekend. Five good friends and myself are making a five day canoe/fishing exploration of as much of Quetico as we can see in that amount of time. I love to fish and I love nature. I'll have to let you know how it turns out. Any advice anyone may have that they can get back to me before the 23rd would be greatly appreciated...especially in regards to what the fish are biting on. Thanks again. I truly enjoyed the website.

Great Pictures !!! You're lucky I found this a few weeks before I leave on my trip, if I had found this in Febuary with a six month wait ahead of me this note would have a different tone !!!! Very enjoyable site, thanks for taking the time to share.

I loved all your pictures. I was to go on my trip at the end of July to the B.W.C.A but while trying to get all my gear ready I fell off a ladder and shattered my wrist so now I am going to go the last week of September. Thanks for the beautiful pictures they help rekindle all the good memories!!

I've camped there many times, we lived in Minnesota, and we used to go as a family every summer and canoe in and camp for several days. Those are some of my favorite memories! My husband has neverl been there, but since he loves the outdoors, I figure we could tackle BWCAW this summer before our first child comes along. Hopefully we'll be able to build family memories there too!! Good luck to all you other canoers!

The last time I went was a few years ago. The blueberries were out in full force and my friend and I ate so many that we got sick of eating them. I am planning a trip next year. The BWCA is an incredible area and although everytime I went it was a lot of work, it was the kind of work that makes you feel good at the end of the day. It makes you feel that no matter what there is still a chance that you could still be a child of nature. The days pass and go by to quick, you can feel nature calling you into the woods wanting to have you explore and she pulls you close letting you know that the world is a beautiful place no matter what you life is like in other aspects. I can't wait to go back!

Please leave your thoughts too!
