I've just returned from camping with my brother and friends for 6 days on a 84 mile journey through Quetico - what an experience! If you've ever wanted a true wilderness experience this is what you are looking for. First off, the red squirels do a good job maintaining/defending the campsites. They also make good company when cooking and cleaning the plethora of fish available in nearly every lake. Second is the fishing!! (which should probably be first)You will not understand what it means to fish until you get to some of these lakes. Literally jumping on the hook in some places! And because the lakes are very low fishing pressure the fish are large and tasty!! I could go on for much longer but suffice it to say this is an excellent trip and if you willing to go to some of the more remote lakes like Kashapiwi you will experience some of the best camping and fishing you ever had!

Looks like heaven up there. Been a kayaker for a few months now, and getting to the BWCA or Quetico looks like it must be the pinnacle for paddlers.

I will never forget the large cinnamon bear that we saw when we first got out of our truck to unload the canoes. What a great place to go back in time!

Hello, I'm trying to find a secluded place for a few days between April 1 and April 8th. My goal is to have no human signs during what one could say is similar to a vision quest. I know that around this time a BWCA and other areas get fairly crowded, but I would appreciate some advice on where to get some solitude. I don't really care where, just somewhere around the midwest, even Canada. If you have any information that could help me (a person, a place, an organization, etc.) it would be greatly apprciated. Thank you, David
