I try to go every 2 years (wife permitting). I would love to go twice a year, at least. Once you experience it, you're hooked. I'm going again this summer. We go to quetico; less people and more rustic sites.

One great trip so far..summer of 97. Was quite pregnant at the time so no big portages. In at Beaverhouse and stayed in the area doing great day trips.Fire ban started the day we got in and was lifted the day after we left..2 weeks later! Wonderful memories of jamming with Ranger Glen and moon light paddles. We will be back!

1st trip with BSA in Aug '67. Never forgot the beauty and challenge. Took 25 yrs to get back but have taken 3 trips of 9-12 days and brought a few Scouts each time. Looking forward to another trip this Aug, 2001. Have a equip/clothing/food guide that I put together to help boys and parents prepare, would send it to a few. Contact me @ email address with and introduction and I'll send it along. We've made lots of mistakes, this might help you avoid a few of ours, but if you're creative you might find a few of your own and later send me a note on how to avoid yours. As I've told the boys, a smart person learns from their mistakes, but a relly intelligent person learns from others mistakes.

I made my first visit June of '00. Spent 12 days on the water in Quetico. After all the wind and rain we had then, it did turn out to be a great trip. Just found your site, nad love it. Lot's of great information. I hope to return again.

I have camped in the Quetico over twenty times in the last twenty years. My favorite lakes are Argo and Brent. Argo for it's beauty and clear water, Brent for it's solitude and fishing.
