Thanks
for the beautiful pics. I spent 10 + yrs. in northern Wisc. Lots
of good canoeing there, never got to BWCA or Quetico before moving
back to N.Y. A vacation to Quetico is in the near future come hell
or high water. The Adirondacks are very nice so I spend time there.
Happy paddling, Andy |

I
love coming to this site when I'm stressed. Taking a virtual trip
takes me away for a few minutes. It's great. |

This
is the most thourough site I've ever found about Quetico and BWCA.
I've only been to Quetico, though. I visited the northern part through
the Voyageur Wilderness Programme. I've been on two trips so far,
and both were spectacular. My guide (and cousin) didn't plan a trip
for us this summer though. But I will return next August, more than
likely. I await the marvels of this wonderful place anxiously. It
has been far too long since I have felt unspoiled air on my face;
since I've tasted the sweetest, purest water on my tongue; since
I've carried my wieght over a muddy portage or paddled through a
storm; since I've sat on a rock while the loons called and watched
the billions of stars come out and I was able to look to the north
and see an auroura. When I looked at this site, I cried. I miss
my home... |

I
have made one trip in 1999 one month after the big blow. We paddled
in a crew of 9 scouts and adults. We went from Moose to Prarie Portage,
then to Burke, North Bay, Side, Kahshahpiwi, Trant, Silence, Summer,
Shade, and to North Bay and back to home base on Moose. We had a
great time even though in places the devistation from the storm
was all around to remind us who was REALLY in charge. We are headed
back this year. |

Canoed
the Quetico for 20 years. Won In-Fisherman Catch and Release Tournament
for Smallies in '93. On a 2000 Spring trip we caught and released
over 100 Smallies over 3 pounds. Darky is my all time favorite. |

One
of my favorite sites. Great Job. I've made 20 years worth of trips
into BWCA and Quetico - many through the great Tuscarora Outfitters.
Most with the same 6 High School friends. Have 3 more planned for
this summer. Plan on passing along my paddles to my children-now
they're old enough to come along. See you in the morning mist. |
